GCSAA is seeking a seasoned professional with a proven record of managing the planning, implementation, and execution of logistical elements to ensure the success of the education conference and trade show of the GCSAA Conference & Trade Show (CTS) and other high-profile association meetings and events. This position is responsible for strategically developing key activities, fresh/exciting events, and managing key vendor/partner relationships that are vital to delivering first-class, well-organized events and positive attendee experiences. Position will develop and manage the department budget/financials, negotiate vendor and hotel contracts, and oversee room block/reservation management. Will work in concert with the conference, meeting planning and trade show team on the strategic planning and long-term development of these events.

Qualified candidates possess:

  • Strong project management on cross-functional teams, with the ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects and prioritize work effectively
  • Highly organized; able to meet high standards for quality and accuracy while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to develop/recommend content for marketing and communications teams to market to CTS attendees
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills " Self-starter who is flexible, adaptable and able to work independently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills/navigating challenging situations while providing high level customer service
  • Six (6) to eight (8) plus years of working in a professional setting with an emphasis in meeting/event planning, including experience working collaboratively with individuals and teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) " Ability to travel, including overnight stays (up to 10%)
  • Will attend the annual GCSAA Conference and Trade Show (CTS) for 7-10 days
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel) & other reservation mgmt. software
  • Experience in a member-driven organization/association or experience with a large trade show or conference valued, but not required
  • Position will work from our headquarters office in Lawrence, KS

Compensation range is $70,000 - $80,000/annually.
